Viva Cuba, Epa!

Varadero, Cuba

I came back having fallen in love with the Cuban people and the country they have loved for so long. It opened my eyes to notions not yet understood, miscommunicated, or preconceived. What I found were people who don't have much, however are happy and humble everyday. Life moves slowly and one reflects about those moments that are always constant. The moments we take for granted. There are no obstructions like WiFi or reality TV. It isn't fancy or flamboyant. It is not aggressive or in a hurry to get anywhere. There is hardly any violence or drugs. Cuba is life and color. It's loud and opinionated. Dancing is your religion and people are the classroom. I found that I could have never learned the truth, Cuba's truth from a book or a classroom. I learned it from humanity. From the human element , the people I met I will never forget. The places I saw I will never stop seeing. The life that thrived will always be remembered. Viva CUBA!
